We are switching over to NFSv4, and I am trying to find what the variable would be for the type. So I can specify nfs4 instead of nfs3. What would be the variable for that in the /etc/rear/global.conf?

Hello Schlomo & Rear Users,

Apologies, sent a reply yesterday, but not to rear-users, just to schlomo at schapiro.org<mailto:schlomo at schapiro.org>. Please see forwarded email below for answers to yesterdays questions.

After fixing the layout yesterday, I got busy and could not work on it anymore. However, the recover runs smoothly up until it start restoring the data from the backup.tar.gz file.

Below is as much information as I could dig out relating to the error. Any idea what I can do to rectify this?

It aborts during this process, with:

Hello,

Do you mean the disk layout? That should happen automatically if there are no choices.
Yes, I am referring to the disc layout. ReaR attempts to resize the partitions to fit them, but does not do it properly. An error occurs so I must specify the sectors manually.

Alright, thank you. I will create a github account and look into clarifying documentation in my free time. It would be useful to implement more detailed examples for each of the recovery options. Since I have used USB, NFS, and PXE, I can surely comment on those methods. I will do my best, and thank you for the opportunity to assist, I appreciate it.

Hope you have a good day.

Best Regards,
Jim Carpenter
