I can confirm that the OBS build works with Ubuntu Lucid (10.04) with
the following entry in /etc/apt/sources.list
    deb
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Archiving:/Backup:/Rear:/Snapshot/xUbuntu_10.04/
/

And yes, if desired I can support the project team maintaining the
debian parts. As a first step I would start with the integration in
Debian sid.
