Generally speaking, yes. In our case all maintainers of ReaR in a
distribution also happen to be ReaR maintainers.
Furthermore, many distributions forbid version updates in update repos
(e.g. SUSE), so that users will want to pull the most recent stable package
pre-built for their distro from our OBS repos.
I think with RHEL this is less of a problem as rear is only in EPEL, but
with SLES this is a big problem and SLES users mostly used the OBS packages
because they knew that they where packaged by me.
I would hope that Johannes is now taking over that part.
